InBody Body Composition Scan: Included on Every Visit

The bathroom scale tells you your total weight. It can’t tell you what’s fat, what’s muscle, and what’s water. For most patients, that distinction is what actually matters.

Our Panorama office uses an InBody medical-grade body composition analyser, the same technology used in hospital cachexia units, sports-science labs, and renal nutrition services. In under 60 seconds it gives your dietitian a 4-page printout that we use to build your plan and track your progress over time.

What we measure

• Total body fat: kilograms and percentage
• Muscle mass: separately for each arm, each leg, and your torso
• Body water: total plus intracellular and extracellular split (a marker for inflammation, oedema and dehydration)
• Basal metabolic rate: the calories your body burns at rest
• Visceral fat level: the dangerous fat around your organs, distinct from visible belly fat
• Segmental analysis: muscle and fat distribution across your body, useful for spotting imbalances and tracking rehab

Who benefits most

• Weight-loss patients: the scale lies. InBody tells you whether your weight loss is fat (good) or muscle (bad).
• GLP-1 medication patients: up to 40% of weight lost on these medications can be muscle without the right plan. We track lean mass at every visit.
• Oncology patients: cancer and treatment-related cachexia is a muscle-wasting condition. InBody catches loss of lean mass before the scale shows it, so we can intervene early.
• Renal patients: body water distribution shifts with kidney function. InBody distinguishes fluid retention from genuine weight gain.
• Diabetes patients: muscle is your body’s primary glucose storage. Increasing lean mass improves insulin sensitivity.
